I’m playing Mass Effect 3 and smiling so hard right now. Garrus and James were comparing who is a bigger badass - the answer being neither because I am - and their stories were great and funny. Then James got quiet when he thought of a painful memory and Garrus comforted him and they joined forces. It was really cute.
Previously, I remember James was saying how he missed the Mako and the other person was reminding him how difficult it was to maneuver. There was another similar conversation but I can’t remember the details right now. All these little encounters and details make me appreciate the experience. Bioware has great humor.
If you walk around the Normandy after each mission the squad will give you their opinions. I enjoy listening to everyone talk though sometimes I just want to fight after backtracking through the Citadel and all its missions.
Being a badass Adept is really fun. I feel like a Jedi at times and it gives me KOTOR feelings. With everything almost maxed out I rarely have to use my guns but do for variety. Use Singularity for groups then pick them off. Shockwave or Push for up close encounters. Pull if they are too far or hiding. Warp for a quick kill or to greatly injure. I’m debating on trying out Cluster Grenade or investing in my unlocked squadmate power Slam since it kicks all kinds of ass but I’m hoping someone will give me Overload. That will make me nearly unstoppable by myself.
Earlier when I was playing one of those crazy Cerberus enemies rushed at me so I used one of my Biotic powers to weaken her. Then I came out of cover and somehow blew her head off with a single shot from my pistol. I was so surprised that I yelled “Whoa!” because it was cool and unexpected.
Right now I’m in love with this game. Reuniting with old squadmates and finding out what happened to someone from some important or random mission I did in ME or ME2 feels incredibly satisfying. I’m happy I played all the DLC because it keeps getting referenced. I wonder if that still happens if you didn’t play it.
Once I finish the game I want to talk to everyone who beat it and compare our experiences. I heard people were unsatisfied with the ending so I can’t comment on that yet but so far the journey has been amazing. I’ve been waiting years for this and it feels great!
